Weekend Leather Course for Beginners
The leather weekend workshop is the crash course in our series of workshops. During these weekends, you will learn the basics of leather processing while experimenting on clutch or a small handbag. The focus of this course is to gain an overview of different techniques in leather manufacturing so that participants can manufacture their own products in the future. We are also happy to discuss problems you have experienced while working with leather in the past. Just bring up your questions during the workshop.
At the end of the course, each participant will receive a small folder containing everything that was discussed during the course. No prior knowledge in working with leather is required for this workshop, but a little experience in manufacturing products can be helpful. We provide the tools, but it would be helpful if you can also bring your own: metal ruler, good utility knife (ideally a roll knife), hammer, leather hole punch tool, cutting board, pencil, paper, scissors.

Course duration: 2 Days
1. Saturday from 10am – 6pm (1 hour lunch break)
2. Sunday from 10am – 6pm (1 hour lunch break)
Day 1:
Overview of leather and leather production, tooling: presenting different tools and trial session.
What should be considered when designing a pattern?
Material selection and trimming, edge processing, adhesives, assembly of various fastenings, hand sewing with the double-needle technique, machine sewing.
Design and pattern construction of your own product.
Day 2:
Make your own product based on the techniques taught the day before

per participant: 230 €, materials costs 50 €, total: 280 €

Cancellation policy:
Up to 21 days before the start of the course: no cancellation fee. Less than 20 days until the start of the course: half of the course fee. You can also find a substitute.
